(Ft. Campbell, Kentucky) March 28, 2014 – M&W Logistics group was thrilled to be the logistics provider of choice for the Middle Tennessee Girl Scouts to deliver 20 pallets (27,000 boxes) of cookies to Ft. Campbell. The cookies will be separated into groups and then sent to the troops in Afghanistan. The Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee use the organization Hugs for Our Soldiers for their Caring to Share and Gift of Caring service projects. “Through the annual cookie program customers can purchase cookies then donate them back for the Gift of Caring program, which is what we are doing today.” Amber Moak is the communications manager for the Girl Scouts of middle Tennessee. “M&W has been so helpful for us, they help transport our cookies; we cover 39 counties so we really need M&W’s help.” Founder of HUGS Cathy Orcutt was happy to see the M&W Truck this morning. “You all are a part of the team as well, how could we bring all of these cookies up here without you all.” Girl Scout Cookies that will go a long way literally and figuratively, “It’s a huge morale booster; everybody likes to get a care package. Chief Warrant Officer Brad Etzler who was a recipient of Girl Scout cookies while in Afghanistan a few years back. “Getting cookies shows that everyone back home is thinking about them.” Chief Etzler and his group were helping organize cookies on their day off but everyone was happy to chip in. M&W Logistics Group is always happy to serve our service men and women who put their lives on the line for our freedom.

Hugs for Our Soldiers (the successor organization to Hugs for Soldiers) is a volunteer-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been supporting our troops since 2003. Our Federal Tax ID number is 26-3486044. Through the help of many, HUGS sends care packages to our troops in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait. Our Adopt-A-Soldier program gives you the opportunity to care for a soldier on a one-on-one basis, and it affords our soldiers an avenue to reach out to those who want to support them.
