A Marketers Mind by, Zack Pugh
Driver Appreciation Week has come and gone for another year for M&W drivers. I very thankful that there is a week set aside for us to acknowledge what our drivers do to deliver America. But at the same time I hope our men and women know that we appreciate them every day, all day, all year round. The life of a truck driver is tough and mostly thankless.
M&W strives very hard to make sure our drivers feel appreciated for all that they do. This year we had our big family outing at Nashville Shores a baseball ballgame in Indianapolis with our drivers there, and of course, the celebrations from last week. Our CEO, Mike McFarlin, has been wonderful at putting back into the company. Profit margins are very difficult in transportation, but at M&W when things are going well, we like to give back to our drivers. That’s why I say we appreciate our drivers year round and it shows.
I also have to give a nod to all the members of M&W staff who keep things going here at home. Everyone plays a part in what we do at M&W: from the dispatchers who are imperative to our operations, to the office staff and shop guys who keep our fleet moving we are so thankful for all that you do, M&W is a top transportation company and it mostly has to do with the people.
As I wrap this up a couple of notes about some awards that we won this past week at the Annual Tennessee Trucking Association event in Destin, Florida. For the third straight year M&W was recognized for the Fleet Safety Award for outstanding safety in Tennessee. M&W placed second in the three million to seven million mile category. For the second straight year M&W was recognized for the 2015 Clean Diesel Award. The Clean Diesel Award is given to fleets that make a conscious effort to ensure their trucks are as green as possible. M&W strives every day to be a safe green fleet, and once again we have accomplished this goal. Thanks to all of the drivers who make these awards possible for M&W.
